Airbnb.org has provided emergency housing for over 17,000 people displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires through a partnership with 211 LA. The nonprofit, founded by Airbnb, aims to support at least 25,000 affected residents and has committed funding for 100,000 free nights of emergency stays. In total, Airbnb and Airbnb.org have allocated over $26 million toward housing assistance in the region. To prevent price gouging, Airbnb has implemented restrictions preventing hosts in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties from raising rates by more than 10% from pre-emergency levels.
