AMD has announced the launch of its 5th Gen AMD EPYC Embedded 9005 Series processors, designed for networking, storage, and industrial edge applications. Built on the "Zen 5" architecture, these processors offer high performance, energy efficiency, and enhanced system resiliency.
The new series supports up to 192 cores, delivers increased data processing throughput, and provides extended seven-year product manufacturing support. Features include non-transparent bridging for fault tolerance, DRAM flush for data reliability, and expanded PCIe Gen5 connectivity.
Cisco and IBM are among the first partners integrating these processors into next-generation platforms. Early access customers are already sampling the chips, with production shipments expected in Q2 2025. More details are available on AMD’s website.
