IBM has announced the general availability of IBM Vault Self-Managed for Z and LinuxONE and IBM Nomad Self-Managed for Z and LinuxONE, following its acquisition of HashiCorp. These offerings are designed to enhance hybrid cloud operations with secure secrets management and simplified workload orchestration on IBM Z and LinuxONE systems.

IBM Vault Self-Managed for Z and LinuxONE provides centralized and encrypted storage for secrets like API keys and passwords. It supports role-based access control, automated credential rotation, and encryption-as-a-service, while enabling secure management of secrets across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including Kubernetes.

IBM Nomad Self-Managed for Z and LinuxONE offers lightweight container orchestration for both containerized and certain non-containerized applications. It includes features for high-performance computing scheduling, hybrid and multi-cloud workload deployment, and efficient infrastructure resource allocation.

Together, these tools aim to help organizations reduce deployment delays caused by security concerns, improve automation, and ensure regulatory compliance for mission-critical workloads.

IBM will further explore these solutions during IBM Z Day on April 8, 2025, a free virtual event featuring updates on AI, hybrid cloud, and cryptography innovations.
