Uber Partners With U.S. Army to Boost Rideshare Access for Military Communities

Uber has launched a pilot program with the U.S. Army to expand rideshare access and driver opportunities for military members and their families. The initiative will begin at six Army bases, including Fort Bliss, Fort Bragg, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, with plans to reach over 20 bases in 15 states.

The program addresses transportation challenges at rural bases where public options are limited. Approved Uber drivers will undergo additional Army background checks and receive base access credentials for authorized rides.

The partnership aims to improve quality of life, connect military communities with local economies, and ensure safe, reliable transportation. Insights from the pilot will shape future program expansion.
