CVS Health Announces CFO Transition and New Chief Medical Officer
CVS Health announced two major leadership appointments. Brian O. Newman has been named executive vice president and CFO designate, effective April 21, and will officially succeed current CFO Tom Cowhey on May 12. Cowhey will transition to a senior advisor role to President and CEO David Joyner. Additionally, Amy L. Compton-Phillips, M.D., will join as executive vice president and chief medical officer starting May 19.
CEO David Joyner welcomed both leaders, highlighting their strong backgrounds and fit for the company’s strategic goals. Newman brings financial and global operations expertise from UPS and PepsiCo, while Dr. Compton-Phillips has deep clinical and administrative experience from Press Ganey, Providence Health & Services, and Kaiser Permanente.
