IBM announced its intent to acquire Applications Software Technology LLC, a global Oracle consultancy, to strengthen its capabilities in Oracle Cloud Applications and public sector solutions. The acquisition will enhance IBM’s expertise in supporting cloud transformations for clients in sectors like local government and education, addressing challenges such as transitioning legacy systems and ensuring security compliance. Applications Software Technology has been an Oracle partner since 1996 and brings expertise in Oracle ERP, HCM, and OCI, alongside partnerships with Salesforce and MuleSoft.

This acquisition aligns with IBM’s open ecosystem approach and expands its Oracle-focused services for public and commercial clients in industries like manufacturing, energy, and consumer goods. The company, headquartered in Lisle, Illinois, has operations in the US, UK, Canada, and India. The acquisition is expected to close in Q1 2025, subject to regulatory approvals, with financial terms undisclosed. Applications Software Technology will join IBM Consulting upon closure.
