Digital Realty has entered the Indonesian market through a 50-50 joint venture with Bersama Digital Infrastructure Asia (BDIA), forming Digital Realty Bersama. This move extends PlatformDIGITAL® into Indonesia, enhancing data center connectivity and supporting the country’s growing digital economy.
The joint venture includes Bersama Digital Data Centres (BDDC), which will now operate under Digital Realty Bersama. The company owns two data centers in Jakarta: CGK11, a state-of-the-art facility in Central Jakarta with an initial 5MW IT load capacity (expandable to 32MW), and CGK10 in West Jakarta. CGK11 is a key connectivity hub, providing direct access to Indonesia’s largest internet exchange, APJII, and integrating with Digital Realty’s ServiceFabric™ for hybrid IT and AI workloads.
Digital Realty contributed approximately $100 million for its 50% stake and will receive property management and development fees from the venture. The Jakarta colocation market is projected to generate $499 million in 2025, with an 11% five-year CAGR.
Executives from both companies emphasized the importance of the partnership in accelerating Indonesia’s digital infrastructure and connectivity. Macquarie Asset Management, a major BDIA shareholder, highlighted the region’s significant growth potential due to rising data consumption.
This collaboration strengthens Digital Realty’s presence in Asia-Pacific while supporting Indonesia’s evolving digital landscape.
