Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Amazon GameLift Streams, a fully managed game streaming solution that enables developers to deliver high-fidelity, low-latency gaming experiences to users on virtually any device with a WebRTC-enabled browser. This eliminates the need for developers to modify their games for streaming or build their own streaming infrastructure.

Amazon GameLift Streams allows developers to upload game content to AWS GPU instances and start streaming in minutes, supporting Windows, Linux, and Proton runtimes without requiring code modifications. The service delivers 1080p at 60 FPS, runs across six AWS Regions, and offers on-demand scaling, helping developers optimize costs based on player demand.

Several companies, including Bandai Namco Entertainment, Jackbox Games, Ludeo, and Xsolla, are already using GameLift Streams to expand their reach and create new monetization opportunities. The technology enables instant-play game demos, direct-to-browser gaming, cloud-based game testing, and virtual world streaming for brand engagement.

By integrating Amazon GameLift Streams, AWS aims to transform everyday devices into gaming platforms and provide developers with a flexible, scalable, and secure way to distribute and monetize games without investing in proprietary infrastructure.
