T-Mobile has reached a preliminary agreement to sell its 800 MHz spectrum portfolio to Grain Management, a private investment firm specializing in digital infrastructure. In return, T-Mobile will receive cash and Grain’s 600 MHz spectrum licenses, which T-Mobile plans to deploy across its network to enhance service quality.

The deal, expected to close by the end of April 2025 pending regulatory approval, aims to strengthen U.S. critical infrastructure by offering improved telecommunications capabilities to utilities and regional operators. T-Mobile sees the transaction as aligned with its 5G strategy and long-term capital goals.
