Amazon Q in QuickSight launches scenarios capability, turning employees into data analysts
On March 25, 2025, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the general availability of the new scenarios capability for Amazon Q in QuickSight, its generative AI-powered business intelligence assistant. This new feature allows employees at any skill level to perform expert-level data analysis using natural language, enabling faster and more informed decision-making across organizations.
With this AI enhancement, users can now ask complex analytical questions, model what-if scenarios, and receive actionable recommendations without needing traditional data science or spreadsheet skills. For example, users can simply ask, “What if we extended our free trial period?” and Amazon Q will analyze the data, visualize the implications, and provide insights in minutes.
Used by companies such as Availity, BMW Group, and internal Amazon teams, the tool is already driving productivity by helping users dive deeper into data, identify trends, and solve business challenges quickly. It also supports structured and unstructured data, including spreadsheets, emails, documents, and more.
The feature is built with enterprise-grade privacy and security, ensuring that customer data is never used to train underlying models. It is available now through AWS’s Amazon QuickSight platform.
