Adobe Launches Groundbreaking AI Features in Premiere Pro to Revolutionize Video Editing
Adobe has introduced major AI-powered updates to Premiere Pro, including the official rollout of *Generative Extend*, a tool that allows editors to seamlessly add frames to video and audio clips, now supporting 4K and vertical formats. Powered by the Firefly Video Model, the tool addresses common editing challenges like footage gaps and awkward transitions by generating realistic content with a simple click and drag.
Other new features include *Media Intelligence*, which enables editors to search massive volumes of footage using object, location, or metadata identifiers; and *Caption Translation*, which instantly localizes subtitles in 27 languages, making global distribution more accessible. Premiere Color Management now automatically converts raw footage into HDR or SDR, ensuring vibrant, accurate color from the start.
Adobe also upgraded After Effects with a faster preview playback engine, improved 3D tools, and HDR monitoring. Frame.io, Adobe’s collaboration platform, now offers expanded storage, document support, transcription tools, watermarking, and new security features to better serve enterprise users.
These innovations have been embraced by leading filmmakers, including the teams behind Oscar-winning films such as *Anora* and *Dune: Part Two*, affirming Adobe’s position as a vital toolset for the entertainment industry. All new features are now generally available, with select Frame.io tools in beta and demos scheduled for the 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
