XXImo Moves to Fully Cloud-Based Transaction Processing with AWS, Visa Cloud Connect, and Amazon Payment Cryptography
XXImo, a leading European mobility payments platform, has completed a full migration of its infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS), becoming one of the first companies globally to move 100% of its card processing to the cloud. This strategic transition—executed with support from cloud services firm CloudNation—includes integration with Visa Cloud Connect and Amazon Payment Cryptography (APC), positioning XXImo as a pioneer in next-generation, cloud-native mobility payments.
The move enhances scalability, boosts operational efficiency, and reduces hardware reliance. It also aligns with the rapid shift toward digital, contactless, and mobile-first payment methods, enabling XXImo to support growing demand in business travel, projected to surpass $2 trillion globally by 2028.
Key components of the migration:
- **Visa Cloud Connect** enables direct and secure integration with Visa’s global network without on-premises infrastructure, supporting seamless expansion into new markets.
- **Amazon Payment Cryptography** replaces traditional hardware encryption with a cloud-native, pay-per-use model, maintaining strong PCI-compliant security while cutting costs.
Strategic partners AWS, Visa, and CloudNation played vital roles in executing the transition. XXImo CTO Zaheer Sacranie emphasized the benefits of faster scaling, improved service reliability, and better customer experience through enhanced SLAs.
Visa’s Ian Lundberg described the integration as a modern leap in payment infrastructure, while AWS’s Scott Mullins noted the importance of PrivateLink connectivity and elastic scaling for secure, efficient operations. CloudNation’s Bart Boonen called the migration a foundation for XXImo’s continued growth.
With this transformation, XXImo aims to redefine European mobility payments by delivering a seamless, scalable, and secure transaction experience across services like fuel, EV charging, parking, and public transit.
